The wand shape, and why it works

A rounded head on a straight handle: 37 mm across the head, 197 mm overall, 32 mm at the base of the handle.

Wands work differently from smaller vibrators. The head is wide, so vibration spreads across an area rather than concentrating in one spot, and you control the intensity with pressure — press harder and it gets stronger. That is a different kind of control from cycling through modes on a bullet.

The long handle is part of the design rather than an afterthought. It keeps your hand well away from the head, which means you can hold it at an angle for as long as you like without your wrist complaining.

The heated head

The head warms up, which changes the feel on contact: warm rather than cold, and the vibration reads as deeper because of it.

Give it a couple of minutes to come up to temperature. Silicone takes a little while to hold warmth, and starting immediately means the first part of the session is spent waiting for it.

The surface

Silicone with an electroplated finish. The plating gives it a smooth, slightly reflective surface that wipes clean easily, and the silicone underneath keeps it soft against skin rather than hard like a metal toy.

Cleaning

Warm water and mild soap on the head, then dry it. Keep water away from the charging point — that is the one part of a powered toy that water will ruin.

Water-based lubricant. Silicone lubricant will degrade a silicone surface over time.

Storage

Store it upright or flat, not bent, and somewhere dry. A wand is long enough that it is worth deciding where it lives rather than letting it rattle around a drawer.

How it compares

Against a bullet, the difference is area. A bullet concentrates vibration in one spot and you move it around; a wand spreads it across 37 mm and you control it with pressure.

Against a rabbit, the trade is simplicity. A rabbit does two things at once and commits you to a shape; a wand does one thing and lets you decide where it goes.

Neither is better. A wand is the more versatile of the two, because it works anywhere on the body rather than in one position.

Before you buy

Check the length against where you plan to use it. At 197 mm it is a long object, and holding it at an angle for a while is different from holding a small one.

Worth knowing too: wands are not quiet in the way a bullet is. The head is large and the motor has more to move, so expect it to be audible through a door.
